Past Events

Ralph and Karen Quick

Temperatures in the 90's did not keep buyers away from the annual "Taste For The Arts" at
the Hofgarten and Wagon Works on June 5th and 6th.  The event was sponsored by the Hermann
Farm & Museum
. Top notch artisans from across the state offered art lovers the chance
to buy everything from floral collages to hand hooked rugs. The event is one of Hermann's
popular summertime attractions and music by Pik N Lik N and Augusta Bottoms Consort
drew rave reviews.

Furniture makers from Clarksville, Missouri, Ralph and Karen Quick, took the top award for their
booth at the Wagon Works featuring Winsdor settees and chairs.

Best of Show went to Dinise Mustain of Columbia, Missouri with Edwina Prinster from Auxvasse, Missouri taking Second Place honors. The awards this year for the three top honors were fused glass medals with prairie wildflower designs in leaded frames, each displayed with satin ribbons. The awards were designed by Gail Crozier of
O'Fallon, Missouri.

Congratulations to

Julie Brickwell,

the winner of Hermannhof's drawing at the

Taste For The Arts.

Hermannhof Thanks You

for your comments

"We are no strangers to the bed and breakfast experience.  This was by far the nicest one we have ever stayed in for sure!

The town, the staff and the scenery were all fabulous!  Make sure to try some German food at most of the restaurants and homemade pie at “Time for Pie.”  Best 7th anniversary ever!  Love the bathtub and shower!!"

Special Events

Civil War Days

Hermann Farm & Museum hosted the 8th Cavalry Regiment, 5th Cavalry Regiment, and the Turner Brigade at Civil War Days on May 15th and 16th.

Union and Confederate forces joined together for the homage to Capt. Charles Manwaring during his tombstone dedication. Manwaring was shot and killed by rebel bushwhackers on the Missouri Riverfront in 1864. Mounted soldiers, hoop skirted ladies, a Civil War Love Letters quilt show, informal lectures and hands on demonstrations on Topsy Turvy Dolls, planting 1860's heirloom Antique Roses, pottery demonstrations, and a display of Civil War clothing added to the weekend's events.

Plans are underway for a major Civil War Sesquicentennial (150 Years) event in October of 2011, with the Battle of Hermann at Hermann Farm. The following photo shows two re-enactors in front of the Inn At Hermannhof
