Meet Lewis and Clark, trapper Toussant Charbenneau, and President Thomas Jefferson as they celebrate Christmas of the early 1800's. Plan to attend the events dinner dance at the historic Hermannhof Festhalle. And for the youngsters there is hands on learning activities at the Lewis and Clark winter encampment. Tickets are required for the dinner dance.
December 8 & 9, 2012 - 10th Annual Kristkindl Markt
This annual European Christmas market rings in the season with the Festhalle bedecked with a 14 foot tall tree and swags of greenery at every turn. Trees filled with gingerbread ornaments, and traditional Scherenschnitte (German papercutting) and a Beeswax Nativity, moravian Stars and dried florals set the stage for one of Hermann's premier holiday events. Booths to feature pewter ornaments, carved Santas, hand painted scarves, clocks, and German bakery goods along with our own special spiced Gluhwein make this show the perfect place for holiday gift shopping in a most gorgeous setting.
